I am currently a postdoc lecturer in the Dept. of Earth and Environmental Systems at Indiana State University. I also conduct contract work through my consulting business: Palescapes Archaeobotanical Services Team (PAST), LLC. I earned my PhD in Geosciences from the University of Arizona, my MS in Geography from Saint Cloud State University, and my BS in Biology from the University of Minnesota. My fields of research include paleoecology, paleolimnology, paleoclimatology, archaeobotany, and botany. I primarily work with phytoliths, starch granules, diatoms, and other non-pollen microfossils from paleoenvironmental and archaeological contexts. I have been working with phytoliths since 2004.
