We are holding a launch event to spark discussions in our community about Open Science and give you the chance to guide the activities that we organise for you.
🗓  When is the event?

The event will take place on Tuesday 4th October and will run twice – 8:00-9:00 UTC (Are we meeting yet?) and 14:00-15:00 UTC (Are we meeting yet?)Both sessions will have the same content, so please choose the best time to suit your schedule.

🎥  Introduction videos
We will release introduction videos to some of the topics of open science that we have been discussing as a committee: open access, FAIR, interoperability, and localisation and translation.        These videos will be available to watch one week (Tuesday 27 September) before the event on our YouTube channel: ICOPS openphytoliths – YouTube These videos are to spark discussion so please watch them and come to the event ready with opinions and suggestions.
🗣  At the event we want to hear from you!
There will be a short introduction to ICOPS and then we will open breakout rooms for discussions on each video topic. You will be rotated around several different breakout rooms so you can have discussions with different people and give your opinions and suggestions on different topics. We will use the information gathered during discussions to guide the work of the committee, especially around training needs.
